Cub Scout Advancement

The Cub Scout Program has two basic features: Rank Advancement and Academics and Sports Program.

Cub Scout Rank Advancement

The first badge all Cub Scouts earn, regardless of age, is the Bobcat Badge. After earning the Bobcat Badge, they proceed to work on advancement specific to their age level. As part of these requirements, they must learn the Cub Scout Oath, the Cub Scout Law, and the Cub Scout Motto.

In the 1st grade boys enter the Tiger Cub Program.  Tiger Cubs, complete Adventures to earn the Tiger Cub Badge, and complete Electives to earn Beltloops to wear on a uniform belt.  The requirements for these advancements are found in the Tiger Cub Handbook.

In the 2nd grade, Cub Scouts enter the Wolf rank.  Wolves complete Adventures to earn Beltloops and their Wolf Badge, and complete electives to earn additional Beltloops to wear on a uniform belt.  The requirements for these beltloops are found in the Wolf Cub Handbook.

In the 3rd grade, Cub Scouts enter the Bear rank. Bears complete Adventures to earn Beltloops and their Bear Badge, and complete electives to earn additional Beltloops to wear on a uniform belt.  The requirements for these beltloops are found in the Bear Cub Handbook.

The Webelos Program is a two year program for 4th & 5th grade boys.  In both years, they work toward earning Webelos Activity Pins in twenty different areas.  4th grade boys work toward the Webelos Badge.  5th grade boys, after earning the Webelos Badge, earn the Arrow of Light.
